What is Triangle Studio?

Set in a preserved architectural home from the 1970’s Triangle Studio was established to assist high school students in creating powerful, critical and original artwork for art school and university submissions. Today, Triangle Studio has evolved into a vibrant environment where students of all ages can explore the creative process!

The Studio was founded by Elizabeth, a portfolio coach and art teacher, who through fellowship and encouragement helps students develop their creative voice using a variety of artistic mediums – harboring both traditional art skills while keeping a fresh and critical eye on contemporary art making and current practices.

Personalised Art Exploration

At Triangle Studio we will draw with charcoal, graphite, and pen and ink. We will paint with water based mediums like watercolor, gouache and acrylic. We can experiment with collage, fiber work and sculpture. We are only limited by the space and our imagination. While learning technique, students are encouraged to experiment and to develop a body of work that reflects their authentic self.

Art School Submission

For students in high school, who aspire to pursue higher education degrees in art, design and architecture, Triangle Studio students benefit from a portfolio coach who has a clear understanding of what art schools are seeking: individuals whose work is unique, illustrates their personal narrative, and showcases exciting and distinctive artwork.
Through a process customized to each emerging artist, Elizabeth guides students to develop submission materials and portfolios that look different and unique. Studio time is dedicated to immersing students in exploring techniques and developing more complex works of art.

Proven Portfolio Outcomes

Students at Triangle Studio build portfolios that stand out from typical high school art submissions, showcasing their individuality and unique perspective. Past students have been accepted, have won scholarships, and have completed degrees at some of the nation’s top art schools, including RISD, Parsons, Pratt, SCAD, CalArts, University of Texas, School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Otis.

Triangle Studio students typically receive scholarships of over $20,000 per year from their school of choice.
